For over 20 years, foodies have always raved about Hong Kong's Grappa's Ristorante. Now, there is no need for Metro Manila’s discriminating diners to fly out as Grappa's favorite Italian dishes can be savored right here at the new Grappa's Ristorante on the second floor of Greenbelt 3 in Makati.
Run completely by the owner of Grappa's in HK, the restaurant boasts of its scrumptious offerings in 2011, completely new interiors for that classy but relaxed ambience and an "imported" executive chef in the youthful and exuberant Benjamin Leib. Chef Ben has cut his culinary chops in France, the United States, Hong Kong and China and for the French Embassy in Azerbaijan. He is now here to share his extensive experience and add his personal flair to Grappa's a uniquely and special Italian menu which is the exactly the same as Hong Kong's. But in addition, Grappa's Greenbelt boasts of varied daily Chef's specials that Manilans will enjoy; conveying the essence of innovative Italian cuisine. Grappa's is famous for its home-style Italian recipes with all sauces, pasta, sausages and desserts produced exclusively in its own kitchen. It only uses all-natural ingredients, including the best semolina flour, "extra virgin" olive oil and a variety of the world's finest natural cheese from Italy and the USA. Grappa's also bakes its bread daily in its own kitchen and uses no artificial preservatives. For wine lovers and beer aficionados, Grappa's offers a wide selection of fine wines and beers, some of which they serve exclusively. Grappa’s is home to Italy's world-famous pasta dishes. One should try the linguine tutto mare which is an assortment of seafood cooked with tomato marinara sauce and onions, zucchini and bell pepper julienne. Choice pizzas are prepared on site, including the Pizza alla Salsiccia, which uses Grappa's Italian sausage, fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. Another top choice would be the original Pizza Parma, with sliced parma ham, grilled artichokes and kalamata olives. Entrees and main courses aren't the only stellar staples; the dining experience in this one-of-a kind Italian resto isn't complete without trying the place's to-die-for desserts, such as the signature dessert Tiramisu. Tiramisu literally means 'pick me up' in Italian, and is created by soaking Savoiardi biscuits a mixture of Italian coffee and French brandy. The use of mascarpone cheese and eggs is fully in keeping with Grappa's tradition. |
