The Birth of an Icon
In October 1990, when the early days of foreign dining in Hong Kong were still taking shape, founder J.R. Robertson set out on a mission. His goal? To open a dining concept like none other in the city at the time. That concept was Grappa’s, a restaurant offering high-quality Italian cuisine in a casual, welcoming atmosphere—a revolutionary idea in an era when fine dining meant 5* hotel restaurants.
“I like to think we always provide great food, great drinks, and exceptional service in a relaxed and casual environment,” reflects Lillian Luk of the El Grande Concepts team.
